Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in San Francisco, California. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in fund accounting, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes. You will play a key role in overseeing the accounting function and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Responsibilities: - Supervise and guide the month-end close process, including managing expenses, revenue, fixed assets, prepaids, and reconciliations. - Prepare and review accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards. - Monitor and review all aspects of general ledger activity, including reconciliations and P& L accounts. - Oversee contracts billing processes and ensure timely submissions of accounting data. - Drive the close process to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency - Utilize fund accounting expertise to manage and report financial information effectively - Leverage tools such as Intacct, Concur, and Adaptive Planning to streamline accounting tasks and reporting - Ensure all accounting practices are aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience, including fund accounting in a non-profit setting. - Proven expertise in month-end close and financial statement preparation. - Familiarity with tools such as Intacct, Concur, and Adaptive Planning is highly desirable. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively. - Advanced understanding of contracts billing and general ledger processes. - Excellent analytical and organizational abilities to ensure accuracy and timeliness. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus. - Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
