The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water has one (1) opening for an Engineering Geologist in the Lassen District Unit. The position is located at 364 Knollcrest Drive, Suite 101, Redding, CA 96003.

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in geology and hydrogeology, including the development of groundwater monitoring programs and understanding the fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with reviewing and writing technical reports with a focus on environmental, geological, and hydrogeological data and statistical and geological engineering analysis.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with drinking water, drinking water wells, and groundwater issues specific to California.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with interpreting environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Analytical knowledge and/or experience.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to follow instructions and directions without error.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with conducting field investigations.  
  • Ability to work independently, organize and set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with computer applications (such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Knowledge and/or experience performing technical tasks.
