Under the general supervision of the Administrator I and guidance of the Forms Design Lead, in the Publication Business Services section, the incumbent demonstrates extensive knowledge and skill in creating, designing, and editing business forms, tax forms, notices, publications, brochures, and envelopes. The incumbent collaborates with business and technical partners throughout the department and works in accordance with the Enterprise Publication Process. The incumbent possesses an understanding and working knowledge of government accessibility requirements and departmental standards. The incumbent applies and tests these requirements and standards, using complex technologies and established testing methodologies. This position provides services which encompass the IT domain of Business Technology Management.

Working Conditions

• This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to clearly demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications and Alternate Range Placement for the position on your State Application (STD Form 678). • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe products (such as InDesign, and Acrobat Professional)
• Experience using accessibility testing tools (such as CommonLook, JAWS and NVDA) and applying testing methodologies
• Knowledge and/or experience with the Annual Tax Form Update
• Ability to learn new technologies, think creatively, and implement innovative work methods and process changes
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, while using good judgment and discretion
• Experience in printing, publishing, and graphic design
• Strong spelling, grammar, writing skills, and ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy
