Mahomet-Seymour School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Band Director to lead a well-established and highly respected band program. This position includes band responsibilities at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels, ensuring a cohesive, vertically aligned music experience for all students. The position will begin with the 2026-2027 school year. Additional stipends related to the position are:

• Marching Band Sponsor
• Band Director/Assistant Junior High Director
• Jazz Band Sponsor
• Basketball Pep Band Sponsor

Key Responsibilities

• Direct high school band programs, including marching, concert, and jazz bands.
• Collaborate with staff, students, families, and the community.
• Plan and oversee concerts, performances, and events.
• Manage budgeting, purchasing, and inventory for instruments, uniforms, and equipment.
• Communicate clearly with students and families about expectations and schedules.
• Facilitate summer Marching Band camps.

Qualifications

• Experience directing school band programs (high school preferred).
• Strong musicianship and conducting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Budgeting and financial management experience.
• Group travel experience, planning and executing a major trip.
• Proper certification required.

: Please see attached current 2025-2026 Salary Schedule (our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year).
