Position Summary:

WEEU Radio is seeking a charismatic, creative, and experienced Afternoon Show Host to lead our brand-new weekday lifestyle talk show, The Afternoon Show. This full-time, in-studio role is perfect for a personality-driven broadcaster who thrives on connection, curiosity, and conversation---especially with a strong local focus. As host, you will be the central voice of the program---steering live daily discussions that blend entertainment, lifestyle insights, and community relevance. Your show will engage listeners across a wide spectrum of topics while keeping a close eye on local happenings, events, issues, and stories that matter to the greater Reading and Berks County region.

What You'll Do:

• Host a live weekday afternoon radio show from our Reading, PA studio
• Lead vibrant, authentic conversations around topics including:
• Pop culture, fashion, trends, and social media
• Movies, music, TV, books, and the arts
• Parenting, mental health, fitness, pets, and education
• Home d cor, DIY projects, history, and lifestyle topics
• Local news, community events, nonprofit initiatives, and Berks County voices
• Incorporate interviews and stories that highlight local people, businesses, culture, and issues
• Collaborate with station producers and leadership to plan daily content, segments, and local coverage
• Operate the studio board and manage all technical aspects of the live broadcast
• Edit and prep audio content using Adobe Audition for on-air and digital use
• Represent WEEU at station events, community remotes, and live broadcasts, including some evenings and weekends
• Connect with listeners and community members on-air and through digital platforms

What You'll Bring:

• On-air broadcast experience is required (radio, podcasting, or equivalent)
• Clear, engaging, and personality-driven communication skills
• Comfort discussing a wide range of cultural, lifestyle, and local topics
• Technical ability to run your own board during live shows
• Proficiency with Adobe Audition (or equivalent audio editing software)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other content planning tools
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• A strong sense of community engagement and curiosity about Berks County life
• Availability for evening/weekend events and station remotes as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience covering or discussing local news, events, or community stories
• Social media savvy with a track record of digital engagement
• Existing connections to Reading, Berks County, or surrounding regions
