Job Description
The Production Pharmacy Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the compounding and production of non-sterile and sterile pharmaceuticals in a controlled and compliant environment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and a strong commitment to quality and safety. The Production Pharmacy Technician I will work under the direct supervision of the Manufacturing Director and will contribute to the efficient and accurate preparation of a wide range of compounded medications.
Our positions are On-Site Full-Time positions in Southlake, TX. The hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm CST Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
Production and Compounding:
• Perform a variety of compounding tasks, including weighing, measuring, mixing, and encapsulating ingredients for both sterile and non-sterile preparations.
• Follow precise formulas and SOPs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with all quality control standards.
• Utilize and maintain compounding equipment, including scales, mixers, capsule machines, and laminar flow hoods.
• Assist in the preparation of sterile products in a cleanroom environment, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
Inventory and Materials Management: • Monitor and manage inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and supplies.
• Receive, inspect, and log incoming materials, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Alert the supervisor to low inventory levels and assist with ordering.
Documentation and Quality Control: • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all compounding activities, including batch records, production logs, and quality control documentation.
• Perform routine checks and tests on finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety and Compliance: • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in accordance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and other regulatory standards.
• Follow all state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice and compounding.
Team Collaboration: • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with pharmacists, technicians, and other staff.
• Participate in training sessions and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Knowledge & Skills: • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to act effectively as a member of a team to resolve problems.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within established procedures and practices.
Physical and Special Requirements: • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances.
• Manual dexterity for handling small instruments and equipment.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, which may require wearing sterile gowning and PPE for extended periods.
Qualifications: • Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with registration in good standing and a current technician license in the state of Texas (Preferred).
• High School Diploma.
• No prior felonies and no misdemeanors in relation to controlled substances.
