• We require an active DoD SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain it. Candidates should possess a strong background in technical IT and cybersecurity, along with knowledge of DoD and DON cyber policies and procedures, including NIST 800-53, DoDI 8500.01, and DoDI 8510.01. A high school diploma or GED accompanied by over twenty (20) years of relevant cybersecurity experience, or a bachelors degree in a pertinent field with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, or a masters degree with ten (10) years in a similar field is necessary.
• We also prefer certifications such as A+, Sec+, CAP, IAM, CISSP, or CEH. Additional knowledge of PEO IWS Instruction 5239.1 and familiarity with the PEO IWS organization and systems is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• In this role, I will provide Engineering Support Services (ESS) to NAVSEA PEO IWS Cyber Leads. The successful candidate will work both in contractor spaces and on-site at the Washington Navy Yard, designing and coordinating the implementation of cybersecurity solutions for surface combat systems. I expect to see experience in planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
• The individual will serve as a liaison between the Program Office and various stakeholders, managing the integration of cyber capabilities into surface warfare combat systems. I will look for someone who can conduct independent technical assessments of cybersecurity evaluations and test results to inform recommendations for system upgrades. Additionally, they will develop briefs on cybersecurity developments and potential risks and facilitate working groups on cyber activities within the combat system. Regularly presenting updates to Navy Leadership and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) will also be a key responsibility. Furthermore, overseeing end-to-end funding operations, gathering and analyzing requirements for future fiscal years, and refining tasks to align with strategic objectives will be necessary.
