Job Description

Zeteo isn’t just another media company. We’re building fact-based opinionated journalism that cuts through the noise to serve the public—not power. We need a Political/Breaking News Reporter with good instincts and contacts, who can track the chaos of US politics in real time, and explain it concisely and quickly but with impact, too.

The Role:

You’ll be on the front lines of political news—from Government and Congress scoops, to grift and influence peddling revelations—delivering urgent, sharp reporting that helps audiences understand, not just react. No spin, no sugarcoating, no horserace journalism. Just facts, context, and why it matters.

What You’ll Do:

- Break news on US politics and its surroundings with speed and substance.

- Mine public records, live events, and undercovered sources to surface what others miss (in a fast-paced environment).

- Write clear, succinct, crisp, analytical copy that avoids ‘both-sidesism’ and centers the public interest and this unique moment in US history.

- Collaborate with our editors to align our political and news coverage with Zeteo’s mission: journalism as a tool for accountability. A media organization that is here to make some noise, change the narrative and, above all else, hold power to account.

Apply:

Send your resume (or link to web profile), 2–3 clips or articles (show us your best breaking/political work), and a short note on why Zeteo’s mission speaks to you, to jobs@zeteo.com - No boilerplate cover letters—we want passion and commitment to journalism.

Requirements

You’re a Fit If You:

- Have 3+ years in professional political/breaking news and can prove it with clips that go beyond headlines.

- Live for the scoop but never trade accuracy for speed.

- Are a reporter who believes political reporting should hold power to account, not amplify partisan agendas. You should be plugged into US and especially DC politics.

- Thrive in a startup environment—self-directed but team-oriented.

- Can flex into nights/weekends when news demands it.

- Report on politics without the baggage of legacy media biases. Want to be part of a team that’s redefining political journalism for an often disillusioned and also impatient audience.

- You must be a legal resident and have a full work permit in the United States.

- Washington, DC area preferred but not required
