Job Summary

The Ainsworth family is looking for an individual to join our Regional Leadership Team to lead our and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds. In addition, coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining Headquarters facility boiler systems, pumps, HVAC systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, Energy Management Systems (EMS), security systems and other building components. Ensure that appropriate service manuals, technical manuals and blueprints are available, current and utilized during preventive maintenance, repair, and/or replacement procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and requirements (e.g. AHJ, GDI/Ainsworth, client) by working with all levels of the organization to ensure compliance with safety standards/codes and employee protection in all that we do.
  • Lead event/incident investigations (e.g. RCCA) & communicate findings and ensure closure of action items within assigned portfolio.
  • Provide support and assistance, either directly or through team members, to ensure organizational outcomes are met within assigned portfolio and accounts.
  • Champion continuous improvement for both site/contract and portfolio level activities while enabling the team to execute by working smarter-not harder.
  • Facilitate, collaborate, coach and embody consistency within systems, process, and tools within the portfolio
  • Supports monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and trending of performance measures identified on the Quality Control Plan.
  • Maintain and complete all relevant documentation to comply with regulations for clients, IFS&M organization, and/or AHJ.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for successfully coordinating, directing and delivering all Soft Services activities and outcomes by maintaining a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship with our team members and partners, including but not limited to:

  • Interfacing with customers, ensuring completion of workflows and associated outcomes are delivered on time.
  • Quality Assurance Inspections and follow-up of all services within the facility, not just those that are primary responsibility.
  • Participate in and contribute to client performance reviews (e.g. Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews) as required.
  • Ensure all work records are accurate and up to date.
  • Participate in the development of operating and capital expense budgets for your assigned portfolio.
  • Identify value-creation opportunities (e.g. efficiencies and/or cost savings) within your team and portfolio.
  • Investigate and implement innovative opportunities to enhance our operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure client and customer satisfaction; strong employee engagement and a positive work environment that enables account retention.

Qualifications

  • First Class Stationary Engineer's Operating License and/or equivalent.
  • CFC universal certification.
  • Ten or more years of direct "hands-on" maintenance experience in a building services environment with two years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Two years experience with a computer supported environmental control system.
  • Two years experience with critical power systems.
  • Experience operating within workflow systems – namely CMMS (e.g. eMaint, Maximo)
  • Provide feedback when objectives are not able to be met
  • Continuous Improvement (e.g. Lean 6σ) experience.
  • Oral and written communication skills as this role must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use those skills in conducting incident/event fact-finding and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to produce and communicate detailed reports.
  • Fluently Bilingual (English/Spanish/French) is an asset in this role.
  • Graduate of formal mechanical trade school.
  • HVAC license.
  • Strong background in steam or hot water boilers
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction and/or related field.
