The GL Accounting Specialist supports all divisions within Safran Cabin. This role is responsible for maintaining the monthly general ledger, performing the monthly General Ledger close, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and analysis of income statements ensuring all financial reporting conforms to GAAP and company policies. This position will report to the Shared Service Accounting Manager and will require minimum supervision.

Summary of Duties:
•Perform accounting functions requiring a thorough knowledge of accounting methods, principles and practices
•Perform monthly accounting analysis and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and perform monthly review with site controller.
•Research and reconcile discrepancies in general ledger accounts, statements and cash transactions
•Monitor outstanding checks and work with other departments to ensure proper. handling according to aging status
•Work with site Controllers to complete month end closing financial activities by designated deadlines
•Record and reconcile inter-company transactions
•Clear daily errors assigned
•Assist with internal and external audits
•Perform all other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business or related field

Experience: 0-2 years' experience in an accounting department for a large manufacturer.

Computer Skills:
•Familiar with Windows Operating System and MS Office.
•Advanced skills in Excel

Other Skills:
•Good understanding of GAAP required, IFRS preferred
•Teamwork-oriented, with excellent people skills
•Exceptional time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
•Proactive and efficient
•Strong math skills, analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional Preferred Skills:
•CPA certification.
